Send in your letters to Transanta!

Trans and non-binary youth in need ages 24 and under are welcome to participate!

We accept applications from all over the world 🌎

This project is specifically for showing support to youth who are houseless, in the foster care system, or otherwise without the essential support of a safe and loving home.

You are welcome to apply again each year that you meet the criteria!

Please join us in prioritizing these young people!

To apply, you need to fill the form below during the open application window. You'll be asked to supply us with some basic info, your letter to Transanta, and an Amazon registry link or Gibtr gift list (depending on your region).

Please pay attention to the form details — you won’t be able to submit your application without closely following the directions!

The only information we will share is the first name you tell us, your age, and the caption you write. While we do require a valid email address, it’s only for if we need to get in touch with you about an issue with your application.

We want to make sure everyone is awarded as much safety and care as possible. If you to participate in our campaign, understand that your handwritten or drawn letter will be posted on big public platform with lots of followers. Please consider all the ways you can protect your identity, on and offline.

Make sure that it’s safe for the name you use on your Amazon registry’s shipping address to be visible on packages where you are receiving them. If you are houseless and need to deliver the gifts to a location where you can pick them up such as a shelter or resource center, please make sure your shipping name(s) match the necessary documentation you’ll be asked for.

This is your opportunity to tell all the santa’s out there a little about yourself! What are your interests and dreams? What are you struggling with right now?

We suggest writing a couple sentences introducing yourself. This will be posted directly to Instagram!

We do not accept any gofundme, cashapp, venmo, or similar links in captions.

You can upload any handwritten letter, drawing, or digitally created art. It must be original and made by YOU.

You can take a photo of your letter or drawing and upload it, or you can scan it. If you’re making digital art for your submission, you can save the file as JPG to upload it. You are welcome to create a collage or include a photo in your letter, but your submission will not be posted without your original letter of some kind..

Images or letters with contact information will not be posted.

We strongly urge against sending us photos because of the delicate nature of posting pictures of trans youth on a very public platform. We do not accept images of minors.

We will not accept any screenshots of letters written in any smartphone Notes app.

It’s important that you read through these steps to make sure you’re correctly creating your Amazon gift registry. We’ve also made a tutorial video to show you how!

You must use the Amazon site for the country you reside in. For example, if you are in Canada, use amazon.ca.

This tutorial is for US-based applicants, but the process is similar for other countries with an Amazon registry platform.

1. Go to amazon.com/registries/holiday and select “Create a Holiday Gift List”

2. Sign-in to your Amazon account.
   If you don't have an Amazon account, you’ll need to create one to be able to participate in Transanta.

3. The form will ask you for a first and last name: please enter ONLY YOUR FIRST NAME.

4. Enter a name for your public list (we suggest “YOUR NAME’s Transanta List”) and the date you want to open your presents on.

5. Select or add a safe address where you can receive your gifts (keep in mind that they will likely come in many different shipments). Use ONLY YOUR FIRST NAME or alias here as well, as the shipping name will be visible on your wishlist.

7. Make sure you set your list privacy to SHAREABLE!

8. Click “Create Holiday Gift List”

9. Add items to your registry! You can add items from any product page: click the "Add to Registry & Gifting" button and select the registry you just created. Be sure to select the correct sizes and preferences for everything you add.
   Once you’ve added your items, you can click on the things you really want the most, and select “Prioritize as ‘Most Wanted’” and save your changes.

10. When you're done making your registry, click the link icon to copy yourshareable registry link!
    It’s important to check the public link to make sure that your last name is not visible, and that all the items show “add to cart” buttons.

11. Come back to this form and paste in your registry link!
    If it’s not the right kind of link, you won't be able to submit the form. If you’re having trouble, make sure you created a HOLIDAY REGISTRY and you’ve copied the public shareable link.

In order to bring Transanta to countries that don’t have Amazon registry platforms, we’ve partnered with Gibtr to take care of your gift list and manage the ordering and delivery of your gifts. 

Applicants will automatically be shown the correct registry instructions for their country. If you're supposed to use Amazon, you will see that in your application form. If you're supposed to use Gibtr, you will see that info in your application form.

Gibtr is ONLY being used for submissions from countries that do not have access to Amazon’s registry service.

Gibtr is new, and there may be some unforeseen issues. We don’t know for sure that the service will work smoothly for you this year. The alternative was not being able to include your country at all, so we think the risk is worth it! Thank you for your understanding. 💞

Clothes, electronics, toys, books, household items— whatever you want or need.

Higher priced items are often difficult for donors to buy, so keep that in mind! You can add a fund with a goal alongside a higher price item so people can contribute to the total listed. If you do add a fund, please make sure the goal is visible so we can keep track and help you reach your goal! Funds with hidden goals are not allowed.

If you’re adding an item that has color and sizing options, make sure those are selected in advance and the item says ”add to cart” on your registry. If it says “view details” once it’s added to your registry, it likely isn’t purchasable.

We affirm everybody’s right to get what they need, however please remember that this is a public forum that includes minors so if there’s anything you need that you don't feel comfortable publicly asking for, put a gift card on your registry and you can buy that item privately.

We suggest adding around $300 worth of gifts. You’re welcome to put more than that on your registry, but we want to encourage you to have a realistic expectation for what might be purchased, and it’s more fun when you see your whole list bought out!

Please, do not delete purchased items off your registry. We will still know they were purchased, and there will be an alert icon by your link which may deter more donors from buying you gifts.

YES! This is a great way to raise money for a higher priced item that might be too expensive for someone to buy on their own. To do this, click “Add a gift card fund” when you’re building your registry.

We do not allow funds with hidden goals. Make sure you do not select “Hide fund goal from guests” on your fund settings! This will cause your registry to be flagged in our system and taken down until you fix it!

You can add more items to your registry at any time, however you cannot remove items from your Amazon registry once your letter has been posted. Any removed items will be marked as purchased by our system, and your “gifted amount” will be updated to reflect a new total.

We are scheduling posts in the order they are received! Once your submission is accepted, you'll be emailed with an estimated posting date!

If there’s an issue with your submission, it will take longer. We will email you if there’s any correction we need you to make! Do not submit your registry twice. If you need to reach someone, please email the elves@transanta.com!

Take great care to ensure you have followed all the guidelines so we can post your submissions as quickly as possible!
